* Poetry reading contest. Organized by Sanggar Purba Caraka and
Bali's Udayana University's School of Letters. Grand final on
April 27 for junior and high school students, university students
and general participants. Contact the organizing committee, Jl.
Pulau Nias 13, Denpasar.

* Music festival. Boom, Festival Band Pelajar 2002, at Denpasar
Art Center on May 2, for student bands from all over Indonesia.
In this festival, each participant has to perform one compulsory
song, composition and a selected song. The grand final will be
held in Bandung, West Java, in September 2002. Contact Radio

*Children's painting exhibition. Seniwati Sanggar Muda organized
a painting class for 38 school students aged between five and 17
years old. The children received free painting lessons from
senior artists. The result of the children's works will be on
display at Seniwati exhibition gallery on Jl. Raya, Ubud from May
through June 2002. All paintings will be sold. Half of the
proceeds will be given to the children, while the rest of the
money will be used to finance painting lessons for other Seniwati

* Teenage art week. Dancing, singing, painting and a theater
competition for school students across Bali. It runs from April
15 through May 1 at Denpasar Art Center, Puputan Park Badung,
