Weal world

Reading the article 'Like husband, like wife' (The Jakarta Post, June 6, 1996) I could not help making the following comment.

If the husband graduated in Germany as an architect, I do not see why he should kill himself just because he was fired from work. A man with such superior education had no guts to face the weal and woes of life? Equally the wife followed him to the eternal kingdom by committing suicide and leaving their three children in the lurch to be cared for by whom?

My company's former driver who graduated from a primary school easily found another job after he was dismissed by his employer. What a strange world we live in today!
