We need a leader of vision

We all know that Indonesia today is in the midst of a monetary crisis. Naturally many aspects have to be overcome, not just remedying the value of the rupiah against the dollar. We face chaotic problems in unemployment, education, development, distribution, urbanization and poverty, not to mention moral problems like corruption and collusion.

In the current climate, in my opinion, we need a leader with realistic, simple, modest and down-to-earth concepts that suit our situation and culture. Not just people with a bundle of dreams about technology and industry, nor people spouting empty slogans.

I fully agree with Siswono Yudohusodo's short-term concept of the situation. In his statement during a hearing of the House of Representatives recently, the national car and N-2130 airplane project should be delayed, then the funds could be used to finance a transmigration program. Other aspects would be covered by this step, such as unemployment and poverty, also urbanization/population and development distribution.

Transmigration combined with a good education system would produce balanced development of regions and people throughout the country.

We should not be ashamed that we have to start from the beginning again. We should review what would be the best for the country, within the frame of the present climate and culture. We have too many islands, too much land and water and rich natural resources that could be exploited for the welfare of the whole population.

We need a leader who knows how to build the nation and head it in the right direction as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution.

As a housewife, I pledge my full support to whoever the future leader is.
