WB president to visit Lombok

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: World Bank President James D. Wolfensohn is scheduled on Sunday to visit several projects here that the bank is funding, an official said yesterday.

Spokesman for the provincial government Tjok Suthendra Rai said Wolfensohn will visit an integrated health service and several literacy projects in the Tanjung subdistrict in western Lombok.

Wolfensohn will also check on various income-generating projects in Sokong village, Antara reported.

Wolfensohn's tour to Lombok is part of his visit which will also take him to Jakarta, where he will speak on the Indonesian economy at a two-day conference on Monday and Tuesday.

Another high-ranking official scheduled to speak at the Indonesia Summit 1996, organized by the International Herald Tribune in cooperation with the Indonesian government, is Chinese Vice Premier Zhu Rongji. (pan)
