WB appoints Severino
JAKARTA (JP): The World Bank announced yesterday the appointment of Jean-Michael Severino as its regional vice president for East Asia, succeeding Russ Cheetham.
Severino, a French citizen, joined the bank in April 1996 when he was appointed as a director in Country Department II of the Europe and Central Asia Regional Office.
Mieko Nishimizu was promoted to South Asia regional director, succeeding D. Joseph Wood, the bank said in a statement.
Nishimizu, a Japanese citizen, joined the bank in 1980. (hen)
