Wayang at the House

JAKARTA (JP): The House of Representatives plans to hold a
leather puppet wayang kulit show on June 14 to commemorate the
Islamic New Year.

The chairman of the organizing committee, Y. Sudarko
Prawiroyudo, said the puppet master Ki Purbo Asmoro will run the
Mahabarata epic entitled Banjaran Kunthi, which features the
story of Kunthitalibrata.

Kunthitalibrata, the princess of Mandhura, marries
Pandudewanata. They have five children known as Pandawa.

The show was initially scheduled for May 24, but its
organizers decided it should be postponed it until after the 40th
day commemoration of the demise of First Lady Mrs. Tien Soeharto.
