Water supply to some areas stopped

The City Water Company, PAM Jaya, announced yesterday that its services to some areas in the city will be stopped for several hours today due to the installation of a remote control system in an electrical relay station.

The stoppage will last from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The company's technical director, Eben Koesbini, said areas which will be affected by the temporary stoppage include Menteng, Tanah Abang and Kemayoran in Central Jakarta, and Palmerah, Tambora and Tomang in West Jakarta.

Pending the installation of the electrical relay station the service to Penjaringan, Muara Karang and Lodan in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta will also be suspended.

PAM Jaya's water service to some areas in Cijantung, East Jakarta, will also be affected from today until tomorrow due to repairs to a water main at the Condet water treatment plant.(has)
