Water supply disruption

JAKARTA (JP): Tap water firm PT Thames Pam Jaya announced on Tuesday temporary disruption of the water supply on Wednesday morning in several eastern areas of the city due to an electricity blackout at the Buaran Water Treatment Plant.

Sales and marketing manager of the firm Nani Sariati said state-owned electricity company PT PLN announced power would be down between 10 a.m. and noon because of repairs to the power station at the plant.

Nani said areas affected would be those served by the firm's offices in Gudang Air, Kalimalang, Balai Pustaka, Pulomas, Gading Permai and Salemba. Thames Pam Jaya provides tap water service to the eastern section of the city.

"The water supply will return to normal once the repair work is completed," she said. (jun)
