Water distribution
From Neraca
The water crisis at the BKI complex on Jl. Asem II, Cipete in South Jakarta began exactly when the rains came in October. PAM Jaya (the state-owned water company) customers in this housing estate, notably residents of Block A, have had to cope with this situation since then.
It seems ironic that in the last two rainy months, our estate is facing a water shortage.
Our housing estate is frequently without running water. And when there is water, the flow is so poor that it takes hours to fill a mere one-cubic-meter bath container. This is about the quantity of water alone, not to speak of its quality. The water is not clean; it is grubby, oily and covered with foam. It also emits an unpleasant odor. Needless to say, this sort of water is unfit for consumption.
As a matter of fact, the water is unfit for anything, even for washing clothes or cleansing household items. This situation seems to be going on forever. At times, the water quality seems to have improved, but its flow is reduced to a meager trickle.
It may be helpful to know that its condition worsens when it rains.
We are forced to depend on the generosity of neighboring well owners.
How about it, PAM?
