Water companies to hold meeting

JAKARTA: Indonesian Water Company Association (Perpamsi) will hold its regional meeting in Padang, West Sumatra to establish a cooperation between small-scale entrepreneurs and members of Perpamsi, an official said yesterday.

The association's spokesman Bambang Suranto said the meeting would take place at Pangeran Beach Hotel, Padang from Dec. 15 to Dec. 20.

Several other activities will be held in conjunction with the meeting, including a sports competition and bazaar. Participants will close the event with a visit to Kampung Nelayan, an area which has been facing a dire water crisis.

"We will help them by building a water installation there ... and in other areas experiencing the same water crisis," Bambang said. (edt)
