Washing line of bras blocks port
ROTTERDAM (Reuters): A washing line strung with bras and hoisted above the Rhine briefly blocked the port of Rotterdam, Dutch news agency ANP reported.
Hundreds of bras were pegged to the line, which was raised above the world's largest port, to highlight the issue of breast cancer.
The brains behind the bra banner was Dutch disc jockey Jeroen van Inkel. He asked listeners to send him bras after Linda McCartney, wife of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, died from the disease in April.
Van Inkel obtained permission from the Rotterdam Port Authority and ships were held up for half an hour as the line was lifted.
