W. Java mission to Japan
BANDUNG, West Java (JP): A delegation of businessmen and government officials from West Java will go to Fukuoka, Japan, next week to promote investment in agribusiness and other industries, Governor of West Java H. Nuriana said yesterday.
"Japan has technology, capital and markets, while West Java has land and farmers," Nuriana said, adding that much of the province's land was still uncultivated.
Nuriana said Japanese investors could lease land from local farmers and then employ them as farm workers.
The delegation will be in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, from Nov. 4 to Nov. 9, after an Asia-Pacific meeting on investment there closes. The meeting runs from Nov. 1 to Nov. 4.
The governors of West Java and Sumatra, 26 governors and two mayors from Asian-Pacific countries will attend the meeting. (17/jsk)
