VW in Asia-Pacific expansion

SINGAPORE: Volkswagen has set its sights on the Asia-Pacific region in a big way.

It plans to use its Singapore headquarters as a base to manage and coordinate sales, marketing and services activities of the company's five brands -- Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, and VW Light Commercials -- in the region.

The company also wants to set a new industry benchmark by launching a spare parts center in Singapore that could deliver spare parts anywhere in the Asian-Pacific region within 24 hours.
