Volleyballers begin SEAG camp on Sunday

The Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI) will open its
training camp on Sunday for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games
scheduled for Vietnam in December.

Seventeen men and 16 women will take part in the camp at the
Sentul Training Center in Bogor, West Java.

The athletes come from seven provinces: Jakarta, West Java,
Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, Lampung and Papua.

"We sent letters to the association's chapters in those seven
provinces last week. Hopefully, the athletes will all gather at
the camp on Sunday at the latest," PBVSI chairwoman Rita Subowo
said here on Tuesday.

Five men from Jakarta Phinisi, the men's champion of the 2003
national volleyball league, will take part in the camp. They are
Loudry Maspaitella, Risco Herlambang, Robby Meliala, Minar Rohman
and Wayan Rudi Tirtana.

Veronika and Etty Meirini are the only players invited to the
camp from women's champion Bandung Art Deco. Four women from
semifinalist Jakarta Phinisi have been asked to the camp.

Rita said the women's squad would go to Thailand to take part
in the Princess Cup. while the men's squad will head to Japan for
the Asia-Pacific Championship in Fukuoka.

"The men will continue the trip to China for a one-month
camp," Rita said.

Male athletes: Erwin Rusni, Loudry Maspaitella, Risco
Herlambang, Uus Susansyah, Brian Alfianto, Asep Supriatna, Robby
Meliala, Minar Rohman, Oktavian, Joni Sugiatno, Marjoko Sigit, M.
Zaenudin, Eko Purnomo, Andri Widiatmoko, Hadi Esmanto, Rudi
Santoso, Wayan Rudi Tirtana.

Women athletes: Rhomi Vidiasnikasari, Santi Wijayanti, Rianita
Panirwan, Anna Yohana, Veronika, Ratih Puspita Rahayu, Fenny
Jumiati, Puspita Dewirani, Lilin Lindawati, Sentya Angelita,
Purwitasari, Sulistyowati, Etty Meirini, Devota Rahawarin,
Yokbeth Kapasiang, Monica.
