Volleyball club, school opened

SEMARANG (JP): The Central Java chapter of the Indonesian
Volleyball Federation (PBVSI) and the Jatidiri Stadium management
board will open an indoor and beach volleyball club and school
here.

"We have netted some players for the club. But new players can
also join the club. We will also open the school for young
volleyball players," said Sugondo, head of the Jatidiri
volleyball club.

He said the school would teach the youths the basic skills of
volleyball. He expressed hope the school would be able to produce
athletes who could progress to the national and international
levels.

"The school is open for young people between the ages of 10
and 17. They will have to attend training three times a week.
They will be supervised by a coach who has earned a national
certificate," he said. (har)
