Violence and children

I am writing to express my family's concern over the nature of television commercial breaks that appear during daytime viewing.

Many film clips are shown during children's programs which are quite unsuitable for young viewers. These have included scenes of violence which have frightened my children, aged five and eight, and indeed it is they who have asked me specifically to write in order that these horrible, frightening scenes may stop.

May I urge television broadcasting stations in Indonesia to follow the example in many other countries by restricting scenes of violence, horror and sex to late-night viewing only.
