Victim from Ambon sent to Jakarta
JAKARTA (JP): A victim of Ambon's ongoing unrest was flown on Wednesday to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital in Central Jakarta with an arrow still stuck in his left eye. He was taken for further treatment there because the local hospital did not have the facilities, a doctor at the hospital in Ambon said on Thursday.
The victim, Afdel Rizal (21), was accompanied by his sister and a doctor from Ambon, and his trip was paid by Al Fatah, the Islamic Foundation.
The foundation also promised to pay the hospital fees for Afdel, his sister said.
Doctors at Cipto Mangunkusumo said they were waiting for the CAT scan report before doing an operation on Friday.
Afdel was hit by an arrow during a riot in his hometown in Central Maluku. The incident happened on Sept.1, but Afdel had to wait for a week before he could be sent to Jakarta. (04)
