Vessel stranded in Madura

SAMPANG, Madura: The KM Osihana was found with its captain dead after being stranded in waters off Sokobanoh Utara village beach here, while the remaining seven ship crew members were saved, official said.

"We have not yet discovered what caused the incident and led to the death of the ship captain Yusac Manangen. We're still checking the vessel's documents," Sampang Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Endaryoko said on Thursday as quoted by Antara.

Reports, however, said that the vessel which belonged to Central Kalimantan's PT Abdi was floating for three days on rough seas in its trip from Surabaya to Batam after it was separated from a tongkang (barge). (edt)
