Vatican ambassador visits N. Sulawesi

MANADO, North Sulawesi: The Vatican Ambassador to Indonesia,
Mgr. Renzo Fratini, presided over Mass in a large open field in
Manado on Saturday in observance of the golden anniversary of the
Catholic Education Foundation in the Manado diocese.

Accompanying the ambassador at the Mass, which was attended by
some 20,000 Catholics in the province, were Manado Bishop Mgr.
Joseph Suatan and a number of priests.

Following the religious ceremony, thousands of students
marched through the provincial capital.

The march caused traffic congestion in a number of areas in
the city. --JP
