Utut held to draw with Sashikiran

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian Grandmaster Utut Adianto could only
draw with International Master Sashikiran of India in the
grandmasters' chess tournament in Calicut, India yesterday.

Utut, whose elo rating is 2,615, drew with Sashikiran (2,470)
on the 57th move after an English opening. The match lasted five
hours and 10 minutes.

Utut was happy with the result but said that he would do
better against GM Thipsay, also of India, today. The
grandmasters' tournament in India continues until March 17 and is
being held to commemorate the country's 50th anniversary. (lnt)
