Use language well

From Kompas

In the event of the Indonesian golden independence anniversary, the government announced the on-going language drive for the use of proper Indonesian.

It is a pity though, that the drive does not entail directions and guidance. As it is now, our language is enriched with new words which have been adapted from a foreign language. Here are some examples: estate has become estat, garden developed into gaden, gallery became galeri, for mall we have the "Indonesian" word mal, regency translates into regensi, as for resort we may use resor.

All this goes to show that inventors of these words are easy going persons who are, actually, embarrassed to use Indonesian.

We appeal for the intervention of the government and look forward to further directives in preserving and maintaining the original Indonesian language.
