U.S. foundation helps elephants

BENGKULU: A U.S. based International Elephant Foundation (IEF) is helping to improve the health of elephants in Seblat Elephant Training Center (SETC) in Bengkulu, a government official revealed on Thursday.

The aid is in the form of medicine and health checks carried out by employees from the IEF, said Agung Setyabudi, the head of Bengkulu Natural Resources and Conservation Body (BKSDA). IEF employees visit the elephant training center at least once in six months and check the health of the 23 elephants in the center, administering vitamins to them. -- Antara
