Unwanted exposure

I saw an advertisement for the People's Sovereignty Party (PDR) on a private television station. The advertisement shows video clips of demonstrations that were held by different groups of people. I was involved in one of the demonstrations. In the advertisement, my face (I was wearing a white head cover, and shouting) was highlighted for several seconds.

In this connection, I think it necessary to convey some points:

1. The use of my picture in the advertisement was out of my knowledge and I was not informed previously.

2. I have no relation whatsoever with PDR. I am neither a member nor a sympathizer.

3. I am an activist for the Women's Solidarity for Human rights, an organization which has members all over Indonesia.

4. The use of my picture in the advertisement will invite questions about the position of the Women's Solidarity as a non- partisan organization, because I am widely known as an activist for that organization.

I therefore ask PDR to immediately withdraw my picture from the advertisement.
