Unsolved cases

There are so many unsolved cases in Indonesia, especially those which are linked to the former government. We have no doubt that Indonesia is a state based on law and justice, which is easier said than done.

We often hear important government officers say that their actions are in accordance with the law and justice. But the reality is far from the truth. I hope that we have the same rights and are equal before law.

Now we have a reform government. We still are not satisfied with what the government has achieved. Unfortunately many cases are as yet unsolved -- the Trisakti tragedy, Semanggi, Banyuwangi. Ketapang, Kupang and the latest and most terrible, the Ambon turbulence.

The tapped Habibie-Ghalib phone conversation is another confusing case. Attorney General Ghalib said that the case was considered settled, even before thorough investigation on the matter was conducted. Is it the way to solve a problem? I am really confused.
