Unprofessional insurance company

I was sick in October 2001 and stayed for four days in the hospital. When I was admitted I used health insurance from my husband's office. It was Aetna Life Health Insurance. After checking blood, USG, etc. the doctor said that I needed surgery on my uterus tube on the right side. The disease is called ectopic pregnancy disturbance.

After three days I felt I had to make sure about the insurance whether they covered me or not. From the information I gathered I was made to feel that the payment would be borne by my husband's insurance. And I notified my own office that they didn't need to pay my hospital fees.

Three months later I received a letter from Aetna Life to the effect that I had to repay the insurance, totaling Rp 7,097,820, with interest of 2.5 percent. I was shocked and upset. It was unfair. Their only reasoning was that the diagnosis fee was not covered according to the insurance regulations.

However, despite our great disappointment and despondency we paid the sum demanded by the insurers.

What an irresponsible and unprofessional insurance company Aetna Life is!
