Unnes to hold literacy seminar

SEMARANG: In commemoration of International Literacy Day, which falls on Sept. 8, Semarang State University (Unnes) will hold an international seminar on literacy in Semarang between Sept. 29 and Sept. 30.

The seminar will be attended by speakers and participants from various countries, including the United States, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore, said Helena Agustien, the committee chairwoman.

The seminar will discuss the importance of literacy for national development. -- Antara
