Unleaded fuel costs govt $270m

BATAM, Riau: Deputy State Minister for the Environment in charge of the management of environmental impacts Isa Karmisa said on Tuesday that the country needed up to US$270 million to provide unleaded fuel throughout the country next year.

"The funds will be utilized to prepare the oil refineries so that they can produce unleaded fuel," he said.

Isa said only the Balongan oil refinery could currently produce unleaded fuel, supplying Jakarta and Cirebon.
