Universal enters telebanking

JAKARTA (JP): Bank Universal announced on Tuesday the launch of its new telebanking service to allow customers to make transactions anywhere and anytime over the telephone.

The publicly listed bank said the service was a new concept of banking in which people would no longer need to go to the bank or automated teller machines (ATMs) to make transactions.

The new service allows people to conveniently open an account, make a deposit, pay bills and transfer funds domestically or overseas over the phone.

The bank also announced it was cooperating with credit card company Visa International to launch its new card, the Visa Electron Bank Universal. (cst)
