United Tractors' sales surge

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed heavy machinery company PT United Tractors announced on Friday net sales of Rp 3.79 trillion ($US421 million) during the first nine months of the year, or 32 percent higher than during the same period last year.

"The increase is quite significant as net sales for all of 1999 totaled Rp 3.83 trillion, or only 1 percent higher than net sales in the third quarter of 2000," the company said in a statement.

The division sold 623 units of Komatsu equipment during the period between January and September compared to only 488 units a year before, the company said.
