Unilever acqisition of Knorr okayed

JAKARTA: PT Unilever Indonesia, a subsidiary of global
consumer products giant Unilever Plc, said on Monday that the
majority of its shareholders had approved the firm's acquisition
of food seasoning products company PT Knorr Indonesia.

The shareholders approved the acquisition in an extraordinary
meeting on Tuesday.

With the acquisition, Unilever will be able to consolidate its
food operations and maximize the commercial benefits of the
integrated business, the firm said in a statement.

The acquisition is part of the global acquisition of Knorr's
worldwide operations by Unliver. -- JP
