Unfinished
An unfinished business is
like a metaphysical tumor.
And yes, ma'am, it is malignant.
I need metaphysical surgery
followed by metaphysical chemotheraphy.
Hair loss, nausea. immobile body.
Pain. Tremendous.
Emotional roller-coaster landing on
depression.
And then, hopefully, healing would start.
Come, sit by me.
Let us begin.

Listening to My Own Heartbeat
Tide rise, tide ebb.
Daynight, nightday.
Systole, diastole.
A continuity that gives
an illusion of immortality.
But that will stop.
One day.
Listening to His Heartbeat
Delicately I put my ear
on his skin.
He will leave forever.
I fall asleep assured of
that.
