Unbecoming behavior

There has been a strong increase of unbecoming behavior in the capital city. On Feb. 6, I was parking my car at MMC hospital when the driver of a white BMW recklessly and at high speed backed his car out of his parking space and rammed into the left- front part of my car. He also nearly squashed the parking attendant, who started screaming.

Strangely, the culprit went into a rage when I admonished him about his behavior. He taunted me to fight and kicked my car. Truly an irresponsible lout with no feeling for other people.

Now, when most people are fed up with acts of violence, this man feels everything can be settled with violence.

I am in great doubt whether Pak Arif, the motorist in question, has a social life that has the same value as his car. I am even in greater doubt if his apologies, grudgingly voiced while still challenging me, were sincere and as immaculate as his luxury car.

We long for law and justice to be above violence.
