UN office plans fun walk, bazaar

The United Nations Staff Association will organize a six- kilometer walk and a bazaar tomorrow, according to the UNDP information center.

The events are part of the various activities being held to celebrate the United Nations 49th anniversary.

The UN 6-K Fun Walk, which is open to the public, will also be joined by staff members from various UN bodies and agencies, including UNDP, WFP, Unicef, ILO, WHO, FAO and World Bank.

The six kilometer walk is scheduled to start at 6:30 a.m. from their building on Jl. Thamrin, Central Jakarta. The participants will walk down Jl. Thamrin and make a U-turn in front of the Chase Plaza building and head for the finish line at the UN building.

Following the walk, a UN Bazaar, featuring stands from UN agencies, will also be held at the UN building grounds. The bazaar is aimed, among other things, at informing the public on the role of the UN in the national development of Indonesia. (hhr)
