UMNO leadership

The recent United Malay National Organization (UMNO) general
assembly saw several key issues being discussed, but the main
focus was undoubtedly on the strength and morality of the
leadership in a booming economy. Being the main party of the
ruling National Front, UMNO's leadership is critical for the
well-being of Malaysians. In his frank assessment, UMNO president
Mahathir Mohamad, also the Prime Minister of Malaysia, criticized
leaders who succumb to the Shakespearean Brutus complex -- giving
noble reasons for their crooked aims. Of late, UMNO has been
troubled by so-called money politics and intrigues. The just
ended assembly was a testimony to UMNO's quest and perseverance
in holding fast to the upright leadership qualities that are in
line with Islam.
