UK trade mission to visit RI

JAKARTA (JP): A British business delegation will begin a week- long visit to Indonesia on Monday to help boost commercial ties between the two countries.

A statement from the British Embassy in Jakarta said the delegation would involve 15 companies and institutions from various business sectors including education, agribusiness environment, and manufacturing.

The delegation will be led by Stuart MacGregor of the Sussex Chamber of Commerce, it said.

"The delegation will explore new opportunities for expanding business with new and existing Indonesian counterparts, the embassy said in a statement, adding that it would also meet representatives of trade and economic bodies including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and government officials.

The University of Sterling and the University of Newcastle, together with four private companies will showcase UK expertise at a marine resources workshop in Jakarta on March 20 with a view to partnering Indonesia in developing its future marine resources development. (tnt)
