UK to help RI in border control

JAKARTA: The directorate general of immigration closed on Thursday a two-day workshop to boost the performance of its newly established directorate of intelligence and border control.

Facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the workshop was attended by participants from the marine intelligence, the police intelligence and the National Intelligence Agency (BIN).

The directorate of intelligence and border control was established on June 8 as part of the government's measures to improve control at the country's entry points. The British government has pledged to provide information technology devices and document forgery detection equipment. -- JP
