Ujungpandang hosts youth meet
JAKARTA (JP): Ujungpandang, the capital city of South Sulawesi province, will host the Arafura Youth Games from July 28 to August 2.
The participants are students from Australia's Northern Territory and students from eastern Indonesian provinces. The games, whose main purpose is to cement friendship between both regions, feature track and field events including cross-country, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis and badminton.
The games are the junior version of the Arafura Games, which will be held in May next year in Darwin for the fourth time and are expected to draw participants from 20 countries throughout the Asia and Pacific region. (arf)
