UI's Pagupon Theater at Erasmus Huis

Women are often depicted as miserable characters in art works, but not in the musical drama titled Lelaki di Bawah (Men Underneath) to be performed by the Pagupon Theater of University of Indonesia's School of Cultural Sciences.

Mocking a man who lacks self-esteem, the play, which was written by two students, Catur Ariwibowo and Victor Saut, will be performed on two consecutive days at the Erasmus Huis, Goethe Institute in South Jakarta at 7: 30 p.m, starting on Aug. 3.

Ten singers, five musicians and six actors -- all students -- will perform in the 1.5-hour-long drama.

Amid the multitude of art performances that depict women as miserable creatures, this play could be an alternative choice. Entrance is Rp 25,000.
