UGM results available via SMS
YOGYAKARTA: Students who took the entrance test at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) will soon find out whether they have been accepted into the university through short messaging service (SMS) on their cellular phones.
"The service provides candidates with easier access to their test results," said UGM rector Sofian Effendi on Wednesday, after signing an agreement on the service with telecommunications company PT Satelit Palapa Indonesia (Satelindo).
He said the service would be available from May 31 through June 6. The inquirer must write "info reg" and send the SMS to number 4262, after which Satelindo will reply to tell whether he or she passed the test.
Thousands took the UGM entrance test on April 22 and April 23, which was the first time the university held its own test after the government introduced a new policy that gives state universities greater autonomy. -- Antara
