The newspaper reports on recommendations from the U.S. state department that U.S. diplomats and their families in Indonesia should voluntarily return home as well as the travel notice saying that U.S. citizens should postpone their trips to Indonesia indicate an arrogance on the part of the U.S. government.

As an Indonesian citizen I feel deeply offended by such recommendations and would like to express the following opinions:

1. U.S. citizens are not safe wherever they are due to the arrogant attitude of the U.S. government. Therefore, it would be better for U.S. citizens to remind and criticize their government so that it gets rid of such pomposity, which is the precise cause of this predicament for its citizens.

2. Regarding the current situation, my fellow citizens are suggested to stay away from locations connected with U.S. interests, as these areas might pose a grave risk.

3. Indonesians in the U.S. are well-advised to immediately return, because to remain in the U.S. means an all-time readiness to face danger.

4. The Indonesian government had better evacuate Indonesian diplomats, their families and Indonesian citizens in the U.S. in consideration of the possible occurence of danger at any time, as letting them remain in the U.S. is tantamount to allowing them to be haunted by fear. In addition, the government should forbid Indonesian citizens from traveling to the U.S.
