Two wanted for stealing camera

JAKARTA (JP): South Jakarta Police detectives are searching for two people who allegedly stole a camera from a plain white operational van belonging to private TV station ANteve on Jl. TB Simatupang on Wednesday evening, South Jakarta Police chief of detectives said.

Maj. Rycko Amelza Daniel said detectives were sure that the camera had been sold to people involved in the Radio Dalam black market for further reselling.

"If we can get the camera, we can get the people who sold the camera to that place," Rycko said.

"The thieves were on an RX-King motorcycle and had followed the van. They had somehow slit a tire of the van, causing it to go flat, at about 4 p.m. on Wednesday."

"When one of the van's two passengers, identified as cameraman Ricky Damaputra and driver Rawi, got down to change the tire, the robbers threatened to kill both of them with sickles, and got away with the camera." (ylt)
