JAKARTA: The tourist sector's union elected Ali Samioen as its
chairman and Sofyan to the secretary-general position through

all 27 chapters and 125 sectoral union units, proceeded smoothly
and democratically.
Meanwhile, the trade union in the wood and forestry sector
elected Sofyati as chairwoman and Latifu Ali as secretary-general
through 2003 at its congress in Ciloto, West Java.

The two along with nine other sectoral unions formed recently
a new federation of the All Indonesian Workers Union (FSPSI
Reformasi) headed by Hartono.
The two unions' chairs and secretaries-general will
automatically be included in FSPSI Reformasi's 22-member national
council.
