Two students missing in river

YOGYAKARTA: Two elementary school students from Krinjing
village in Bantul went missing along the Oya river on Friday.

The search, conducted until Saturday, did not find any traces
of the two boys, who are identified as Iswanto, 10, and Rudi
Ismawan, 10.

A witness said the students fell into the river when they were
fishing, a common activity to kill time during the fasting month
of Ramadhan.

"The lads suddenly slipped and fell into the treacherous
water. The were carried away by the flow," Parjiyo was quoted by
Antara as saying.

Parjiyo said local residents tried to search for the boys, who
were seen often playing together. (jun)
