Two siblings dead after major fire

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Lena, 5, and her sister Santi, 7, were
found dead after a fire razed 10 houses here at dawn on Tuesday.

Another family member suffered severe burns in the fire on Jl.
Masjid Taufik.

The fire started when an oil lamp fell to the floor in a house
on the street and caused a major fire in the neighborhood, said
East Medan Police chief Adj. Comr. Joko Susilo.

Several fire trucks were deployed to the scene and the fire
was put out within three hours, said Joko.

The bodies of the two girls were taken to Pirngadi Hospital. -- JP
