Two PNG nationals arrested for drug
JAYAPURA, Papua: Papua police have arrested two Papua New Guinea (PNG) nationals, John Kammi, 31 and Jacksen Paimba, 25, and charged them with smuggling one kilogram of cannabis in the form of dry hashish into Indonesian territory.
The pair were charged of violating laws on controlled drugs, for smuggling the cannabis into Indonesian territory and for violating immigration law by entering Indonesia without possessing proper immigration documents.
Adj. Comr. Robert Suweni, an officer at the Water and Air Police Section of the Papua Provincial Police, said on Tuesday the two were arrested on a boat on Friday as it was entering into Indonesian territory outside of Jayapura. -- JP
