Two Pakistanis questioned

JAKARTA (JP): Police questioned two Pakistani men yesterday after they allegedly caused a disturbance at the office of a social foundation in South Jakarta.

A police sergeant at the South Jakarta Police precinct said the men had a donation letter signed by community leaders, but apparently could only speak Arabic.

He said they apparently became agitated when staff at the foundation, owned by a Dutch man, did not immediately help them.

The men had been staying on Jl. Jaksa in Central Jakarta.

The sergeant said specially assigned tourist service police arrested the men at the office on Jl. Panglima Polim.

When first questioned by police, the men showed their letter and pointed to their stomachs, he said.

He said it was unclear whether the men wanted money for food or for continuing their trip. (jun)
