Two more expats arrested for drugs
DENPASAR, Bali: The local police narcotics unit has arrested two Norwegians allegedly in possession of 22.4 grams of marijuana seeds, Bali Police chief of detectives Sr. Supt. Bambang Hendarso said on Friday.
The two, identified as Leis Roger Loesli, 30, and Dagfinn Aarland, 36, were arrested in a raid on a local friend's house in Ubud, 30 kilometers east of Denpasar, at about 9 p.m. local time on Thursday.
"We had been suspicious for quite some time that they possessed narcotics. We kept them under surveillance as we were looking for strong evidence that would enable us to make an arrest," Bambang said.
The ganja seeds were found separately in two small metal tubes in their rented rooms. A small metal box containing black powder was also found inside their car's dashboard.
On Friday at about 5 p.m. local time police also arrested two alleged drug dealers identified as Acong, 30, and Tony, 21, in the Sanglah area in Denpasar. The police reportedly seized eight grams of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine) from the suspects.
