A police team has arrested two more people on charges of attacking a police command post on Seram island recently, a police spokesman said on Friday.

The two were arrested on Thursday afternoon in two separate locations on Buru island, said Maluku provincial police spokesman Comr. Endro Prasetyo.

Police apprehended AU in his house in Wamsisi subdistrict, and later arrested MN in Namlea city, the capital of Buru regency, after obtaining information from AU.

Endro said MN attempted to flee when police arrived at his house, but the police shot him in the leg.

Both men were sent to Ambon on Thursday night for questioning in relation to the attack on a Mobile Brigade (Brimob) command post in West Seram regency on Monday that killed seven people, including five Brimob personnel.

"The two are being questioned but have not been named suspects yet," said Endro.

The police are looking for three other suspects in the case. Of the eight attackers, one was shot dead and two others have been arrested. One of the first people arrested was an active police officer who was apprehended in Ambon just after the Seram attack.
