Two killed in bus accident

PACITAN, East Java: Two female teenagers were killed and several passengers suffered injuries when their bus hit a coconut tree near Sedeng hill, Pacitan regency on Sunday night.

The victims, identified as Nur Fitri, 17, and Murni, 14, along with friends from the Sukorejo village youth group were on a field trip.

Antara reported that the bus, driven by Kuswaji, was allegedly driving at high speed when it lost control at a sharp turn.

The bus careened to the side of the road and hit a tree, causing the two teenagers to be thrown out of the bus, dying instantly. (jun)
