Two Jakartans study pollution

JAKARTA (JP): Two Jakarta residents -- Soehatman Ramli and F.A. Gunawan -- have completed their studies in pollution at the University of California, the U.S.

The two were enrolled at the University of California Berkeley Extension's Institute in Pollution and Control, the university said recently.

Ramli and Gunawan both work for state-oil company Pertamina. Ramli is the environmental and health safety manager at state- owned oil company Pertamina. Gunawan also works for Pertamina and has a master's degree in management from the University of Indonesia.

Berkeley Institute in Pollution and Control provides professionals the opportunity to learn about the latest strategies, treatments and technologies from some of the major experts in the field and exchange ideas with colleagues from around the world.

The second annual Berkeley Institute in Pollution Prevention and Control will be held March 30 to May 1 next year in Berkeley with a fee of US$4,200.
